No, the Urban Forestry Section is responsible for all tree maintenance. Please contact our Tree Clerk at 975-2890 to request tree maintenance. Urban Forestry will remove the lower branches on City-owned trees in order to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, signs and pedestrians. Tree branches over roadways are removed to a height of 4.5 metres and to a height of 3.0 metres over sidewalks and pathways. All branches within 2.0 metres of any structures are also removed. Trees on private property which are causing problems are the responsibility of the homeowner. The City’s Bylaw Inspector will investigate these calls (please call 975-3193).
