The battery that comes with the PTC is a special 3.7 V, and most AAA batteries are 1.2 to 1.5 V. Zig Cigs does offer replacement batteries for the PTC. If you are waiting for your replacement 3.7V, you can try using a 1.5 V, it should not hurt the PTC.
