No, you have 3rd Generation 80GB PS3 which is not compatible to PS2. The limited edition 80GB that will play PS2 games was bundled with MGS4 or Motostorm and had the SD/Flash readers as well as 4USB ports (2nd Generation PS3). The memory card tool for the PS2 was probably not removed. This version of the PS3 is the same in both NTSC and PAL regions (other than power requirements), so being from UK does not make a difference. This PS3 will never be able to play Disk Based PS2 games.

Since it has only 2 usb ports it can’t play PS2 games. Only the PS3 with 4 usb ports can.
