Can the proceeds be assigned to a funeral home?
Annuity Contracts cannot be assigned to a funeral home. Life Insurance death benefit proceeds can be assigned up to the amount of the outstanding funeral home bill. The funeral home’s assignment form must be signed by the beneficiary(ies), and notarized. The original assignment form must be returned to the us with a copy of the funeral home bill.
