Can the premium under a policy transferred to India be paid in foreign currency?
• Yes. Premiums due on rupee policies (held in Indian Register) can be paid in foreign currency either by direct remittance from abroad in foreign currency through banking channels in an approved manner, or, by remittance through postal channels like foreign money order, or, by cheque drawn on the non-resident account of the policyholder with an authorised dealer in foreign exchange in India.
