Even with a 17-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs that stretched the home team’s regular-season winning streak to 20, those feelings lingered throughout the day at a hushed Gillette Stadium. Game won. Season lost? At this point, there is the strong possibility that Brady will not be making his 129th consecutive start when the Patriots travel to East Rutherford, N.J., to play the New York Jets next Sunday. There would also appear to be the distinct possibility that he could be sidelined much longer than that. According to several reports, Brady may have torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee and will miss the rest of this season although the Patriots have not released any further information on Brady’s condition. Summoned in relief of Brady on Sunday, fourth-year backup Matt Cassel completed 13 of 18 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown in guiding the Patriots to Sunday’s win.
