An indoor space dedicated primarily to track and field with a moderate amount of spectator seating will cost several million dollars to build and hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to operate. To date none of the interested parties have been able to formally commit this amount of capital and operational funding ahead of more pressing needs for their constituencies. Spending limited amounts of tax payer supported bond dollars for the best purposes in the County has not included an indoor track facility to date. • Does the Park Authority recognize the need for indoor track facilities? The Park Authority acknowledges that an indoor track facility would be an excellent complement to other recreation facilities in the county.
