The OpScan scanners can be optioned with either a pencil or ink read head. In the education marketplace, pencil read is by far the most common since it allows erasures. A pencil read OpScan scanner can not read ink. However, an ink read OpScan scanner can read both pencil and ink. Note that all Benchmark answer sheets are ink read compatible.
