The Mindspeed firmware can limit the effect of DoS attack, but the firmware cannot be fully protected. A complete protection against DoS attack would require that the drop packet decision is performed at the layer 3 and 4, without altering the overall stability of the system. However, the Mindspeed firmware is in layer 2 or lower.
