A – Our current clients uses the machine to rough and finish cut the guitar necks and body. Some finishing operations will take approximately 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the step over/feed rate/type of wood/cutter diameter. We teamed up with Vizion Technologies and used ArtCam to produce an organic guitar body for the NAMM show. Using a half inch ball endmill and a tool path of .030″ step over, the cutting operation was timed at 4 hours without being optimized. With faster feed rate and future optimization of the tool path the body finish should have taken only 1.5 hours.
