If the system on which the software is licensed malfunctions, the license key may be loaded on a second system temporarily for the period of the malfunction. Also, HP provides for the license key to be registered (but not loaded) on a second system to prepare for the event of a failure, and may be loaded at the time of the failure. If a license key is enabled for use on two systems simultaneously, then two licenses are required.
