Can the KIV-21 utilize an SNMP Management application?
KIV-21 has an SNMP agent on the Red side but does not provide it as a standardfeature (KIV-21 provides web browser based management using HTTP). Both allowKIV-21 to be managed from an SNMP Management application from either the Red orthe Black-side (from a remote Red LAN). The SNMP messages that are received at theBlack interface are UDP/IP encapsulated and encrypted, and must first be decryptedbefore they are passed to the Red-side, for UDP /IP processing and handling bythe SNMP agent. It is much easier and offered as the standard approach to manageand monitor the KIV-21 from a web browser (through the KIV-21 Web Server GUI) thanit will be to manage through an SNMP Management Agent. The current web interface isfar superior to the SNMP approach.
