You can use it internationally with one problem (other than perhaps whatever is up with the plugs there). The wireless capability of the device (the part that lets you shop on amazon with it) is tied to the sprint network (and possibly specifically tied to the US part of it, if they have anything international). So while you can use it for its reading capabilities, you will have to do any purchasing on a computer and then use the USB cable link or an SD card to get whatever it is that you want onto it. This is unfortunately missing the main edge of the Kindle, but if it’s worth it to you to get the reading functionality then it should work fine.
