Can the internet handle big breaking news?
Well first I would need “big breaking news” defined. I don’t belive we have seen any in several years – mostly what is reported is big breaking drivel, from MJ to the sex scandels. As to being able to handle the volume of traffic I believe that is an ongoing concern. Much like other markets the question seems to be should the system be built for peak traffic and seldom get used or the more usual flow that may be needed say 97% of the time. There is always the risk that any system can be overloaded but I don’t see any great risk or danger when this one will -the recovery period will be the question and I believe that is getting better.
