Can the illegal subject, if detained or investigated, hire an attorney to find out who filed the report?
The identity of the person filing a report is not divulged to the government nor third parties. An attorney for the subject would not be able to obtain the identity of the person submitting the report because the data does not reveal one’s identity. If the subject were involved in a hearing it is possible the data submitted could be available to a defense attorney during the discovery process.
