Can the grant funds be used to pay for items that are ordered after my grant application is submitted, but prior to notification of an award?
If an applicant has purchased an item(s) that was included in their grant application after submittal, but before award, those costs may be eligible for the grant. The applicant would have to request approval of those costs and FEMA will consider each request on a case-by-case basis. • Where can I obtain technical assistance in filling out an application? There is a toll free information line available for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The toll free number is 866-274-0960. Calling hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. E.S.T. This number will also accept voice-mail messages after hours, on weekends, or if the line is busy. Questions may also be sent to a toll free fax line, 866-274-0942, or e-mailed to usfagrants@fema.gov. • Where and when can I get grant writing training? Check the USFA website at www.usfa.fema.gov for a list of workshop locations and a copy of the PowerPoint presentation (including ‘notes pages’) given at these events. • Will F
