FISC CDH supports RAID feature in firmware version 3.10 and later. The RAID feature can be applied to “Mirror Drive” in firmware v3.10 and also to “File Drive” in firmware v3.20 and later. The FISC CDH uses software to implement RAID function, it is not necessary for you to upgrade the motherboard of the FISC CDH controller. The only hardware parts that you have to upgrade is to add more memory (total 64MB at least) if you are trying to setup a “RAID level 5” group. The RAID features implemented in the FISC CDH will consume a certain percentage of memory space and CPU power while activated. Concerning about the overall performance, we will suggest you to add at least 32MB memory for better performance; no matter RAID level 0, 1, or 5 is configured.
