Can the Facility write someone with an out-of-state or international drivers license?
Yes. According to the Facility Users’ Manual, the Facility is available to “persons who (a) own a motor vehicle registered or to be registered in the State, or (b) have a valid driver’s license, or (c) are eligible for the restoration of their Michigan driver’s license upon the filing of proof of financial responsibility” (Section I.1.A.). Servicing carriers may request a copy of these licenses for their underwriting files.
