Can the enzyme technology be used in combination with acid treatment?

A12: For limestone formation with low porosity (i.e. less than 10%), pumping acid alone into the formation will dissolve some of the rock to “enlarge” the formation porosity. Hence this treatment doesn’t cause any direct additional release of oil. The enzyme however, which not reacts with the limestone, causes oil to be released from the solids surfaces. This, in turn, exposes more solid surface to be attacked by the acid which again increases porosity. Consequently, the combined effect of the two stimulation methods results in a significant increase in oil production. This also applies to acid treatment for other types of rock formations. High synergetic effects have been observed by combining these two well stimulation measures.
