Can the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grants be used to purchase and install water meters in a Village that currently has none?
Since there would be no energy savings resulting from this activity and it is not one of the three eligible activity categories, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds could not be used for this proposed project. The Village owns an apartment building which has four units that are rentals. The building is 35 years old, has the original furnaces, windows and doors and window air conditioners upstairs. Can this money be used for replacing the furnaces along with central air and the windows and doors? If so what do we have to do to apply for this? Since the property is owned by the Village and is an eligible category building retrofits this project would be eligible. If you decide to apply for grants you will need to complete the application package and have documented bids to support your costs. Do you require the communities LMI to be at 51 or above like the CDBG does? I am interested in this program and would like to know a little more regarding the requirements. Requirem
