If you mistakenly delete a copy of a file on your N drive, you might be able to recover some or all of the information. Every night, the University takes a snapshot of the documents on your N drive (aka NetFile). These backups are created at approximately 2 AM every morning, so if you typed a document at 8 AM and then deleted it at 8 PM on the same day, the document cannot be retrieved. Below are instructions for accessing backup files using your N drive: 1. Login to a computer that has your N drive mapped (i.e. Windows lab machine). 2. Right click on the N drive and choose Properties. • You may find a shortcut to your N drive on the desktop. • You can also find your N drive by opening My Computer. 3. Click on the Previous Versions tab. 4. You are presented with a list of backups. You can open a backup simply by double-clicking on the desired backup. 5.
