A. V.14 is an addition to the V.22 standard that allows for the insertion and deletion of stop bits in asynchronous data transmission on a synchronous medium. When used in asynchronous mode, the CMX644A will remove and insert stop bits to meet the UART settings in the UART Mode Register.
