Can the cells overheat?

Yes overheating is the biggest problem with electrolytic cells. One reason is that most people run the amperage too high in an attempt to get more hydrogen and higher amperage will give you more hydrogen, but it also drastically increases the heat. This is why we have designed our ODH-HALO & ODH-Titan systems with a cooler and circulating pump which keeps the system running at slightly above ambient temperature. The ODH-Econo heat is controlled by a lowered operating current which produces less heat.
