Can the Careington plan work with another dental program?
Yes – unless your program is an HMO, PPO, or another discount dental plan where you are required to go to participating dentists. Just go to a Careington plan dentist, pay the discounted fees and obtain a copy of your bill. Then, file the required paperwork with your other company plan to be reimbursed by them. Careington will stretch your dental care dollars, so you reach your other program’s maximums more slowly. You may also use the Careington dental plan for services not covered by your other plan. For example, many people have medical plans, but do not have dental and vision coverage. Remember that discount dental plans are not insurance and may include fee reductions on many services not included in traditional indemnity dental programs.
