The Trac-Cab incorporates a fail safe lowering mode. Simple controls in the car can be actuated to allow controlled lowering of the car. Speed is automatically controlled and both safety brakes remain fully functional at all times. The telephone/intercom will continue to function with loss of power to the elevator system.
