Borrowers and cosigners should use separate personal references. The borrower cannot use the cosigner as a personal reference and the cosigner cannot use the borrower as a personal reference. The borrower must provide two personal references and the cosigner must provide two personal references so at the end of the PIF process, there should be four different people listed as personal references.
