Can the battery packs be removed from the aluminium box?

There is no requirement to open the aluminium battery box. It is waterproof sealed. It was designed this way for good reason. Some lamps have found that opening battery boxes and removing cells leads to problems. Cells can be hard to remove from battery box, even above ground. Battery boxes that open can and do leak and cells will then die. Charging Li-Ion cells in heat shrink form is not without risks, and spare cells in heat shrink form are difficult to protect when transporting. The only time to remove the cells is if they require replacement. Replacement 7.4v battery packs are available from Little Monkey at low cost, though proprietry packs of varying quality are becoming widely available. The Little monkey aluminium battery box has been designed to provide maximum protection to your battery packs, while allowing new battery packs to be fitted if cells should fail in the future (this is just good common sense).
