Can the battery be charged in the EX environment?
Yes. Circumstances arise that do not permit removal of the truck and battery from the EX environment for charging. One method of charging in the environment is to Take Control of the Environment during charging. Shutting down the sources of vapors/gasses/dust, ventilating the environment appropriately, and prohibiting introduction of vapors/gasses/dust during charging are means of accomplishing environmental control. Another method of charging in the environment is the Remote Charging Station. Excalibur Equipment Leasing has developed the Remote Charging Station method of charging protection while the truck is in the environment.
