Can the backseat of a 1998 Ford Contour be lowered?
I know that in my 1996 Mercury Mystique (which, for all intents and purposes, is the same car as the Ford Contour) The back seats can be folded forward, to extend the trunk into the passenger area. I assume that Contours of the same year have this same feature, but I think this is a feature that may have been “decontented” in later years. In fact, on looking at http://www.contour.org/FAQ/FAQ.php?s=models I see that this feature was decontented on the base model in the middle of the 1988 model year, but was still present on the SE version of the Contour.
