Can the approach prompted by the plan be successful?
• The success of the informed approach promoted by the Shoreline Management Plan philosophy will be dependent upon the linking of the various elements described above and summarised below: • First SMP – Gather information Identify gaps; Determine Policy • Ongoing – During first 5 years of Plan – Undertake Studies and Monitoring; Fill Gaps; Analyse and use data for management tasks. • End of year 5 – Review Policy using results from monitoring and studies and set time interval to next review. • Repeat Items 2 and 3.
