Can the Allied Health Service Provider remuneration stream be used to help RACFs pay for RACF nurses to attend palliative care training?
Generally Panels funds cannot be used to train RACF staff as RACFs receive funding to ensure their staff receive appropriate training. Where specific training is identified that broadens the scope of care and improves care options for residents, the Division may apply to the Department in writing to request that Panels funds be used to pay for training. This approval should be sought under 4(f) Funding – Other Activities in the Panels Guidelines as the Allied Health Service Provider remuneration stream cannot be used to pay for this training. In accordance with 4(f) Funding – Other Activities, funding may be used flexibly to assist Division support work or other activities if the Division has gained the written agreement of the Panel and the Department.
