Can the ACT or SAT test be used in place of the TOEFL?

Yes. If you have ACT or SAT scores they may be used in place of the TOEFL score to determine your English proficiency. Our office uses the sectional scores of these tests in order to make this determination. If you have a score of 19+ on the English sections of the ACT, or a 470+ on the English sections of the SAT, then you do not have to submit TOEFL scores. Other English proficiency tests can also be used instead of the TOEFL, but this determination must be made by our IEP Department.
