All districts have received a complete waiver packet from the USDE. There is a great deal of flexibility allowed in the new law for reasonable requests, but districts must show that students in a SWP school will receive a better educational program than they would in a targeted assistance setting. Waiver requests are made to the USDE, but should be sent to Ira Clark at CDE, as the State Education agency is requested to comment. Waivers are expected to take 60 days at the USDE level.
