Can the 1010 load two tanker trucks simultaneously?
The 1010 is designed to load a truck by authorising the driver and/or truck and providing prompts to guide the operator through the loading sequence. In this way, the 1010 takes control over the entire transaction associated with loading a truck. Trying to load more than two trucks, say on an island gantry with a truck on either side, is not possible with a multi-arm 1010. You cannot have one arm of a 1010A2 devoted to the truck on the left side and the second arm devoted to the truck on the right side of a gantry. The reason behind this lies in the messaging and operator interface. It is extremely difficult to display the appropriate messages to two different drivers at the same time without have a very confusing operating sequence. Even if you do succeed in designing a message sequence, what happens when error or alarm messages need to be displayed?
