Can TESOL provide details or references for a particular employer? How do I know if an employer is reputable?
TESOL does not evaluate or provide references for any employer. Unless an employer’s ad copy violates TESOL’s Terms and Conditions for Advertisers, which prohibit discrimination, TESOL reproduces job ads exactly as the employers provide them. TESOL has no additional information, including contact information, for any employer. Before accepting a new position, exercise caution and good judgment. Ask the employer for references, or talk to current employees. Also investigate workplace expectations and working conditions, because they tend to vary widely by country. For more tips on evaluating employers, visit the Job Search Resources section of TESOL’s Web site. TESOL does not provide legal assistance or advice in workplace disputes. TESOL must remain impartial in all relations between jobseekers and employers.
