Can temporary fillings be used instead of permanent light cure fillings?
No. Temporary fillings have a specific use in dental treatment and cannot be used to substitute for your need for permanent fillings. Temporary fillings are, as the name implies, temporary fillings that will fall off in a matter of hours or days or even be removed when you brush your teeth. They are generally used only to test if your teeth will continue to ache if the exposed cavity which requires a permanent filling is covered. Prolonged and frequent use of the temporary filling may also cause further dental problems for the patient. This is the reason why Affinity prohibits the use of temporary fillings as remedies for the treatment of cavities. As a rule, only a maximum of three temporary fillings are allowed per visit to your dentist.
