Can teething be painful?
Yes! As the primary teeth erupt they have to push through your baby’s gums. This pressure can make gums sore and very tender. To comfort your child, rub their gums with a cool, damp wash cloth. A cold, clean teething ring for your baby to chew on can also be helpful. Do remember that teething does not cause a fever. If your child has a fever, it needs to be addressed as a separate medical problem.
