Can tattoos make somebody look intimidating/rough?
Good question. While tattoos themselves have come on leaps and bounds in popularity and acceptance (thanks to icons like Axl Rose, Dusk Til Dawn and Tommy Lee), facial and hand tattoos (permanently visible) are still a taboo to most. I think it’s because having tattoos you cannot hide, and that change the most identifiable part of you, either signifies that you are very confident and have no worries concerning employment (a scary thing to some) or you just don’t give a stuff about anything (also scary). Someone who is seen as having little regard for himself (which perversely is often the opposite in this case) is seen as unpredictable. Another reason is that one of the more common places where someone might feel the need for a facial tattoo is in prison, where a bold front is a shield of protection. Couple this with the adopting of prison-style designs by the more law-abiding (those cobwebs on the elbows are meant to mean something lol) and the public don’t know the difference. Those
