Can sycamores be protected as they are just weeds?
Yes. Sycamores, Leyland cypress and any other tree species can be protected. Indeed sycamores can be very important trees. In Cornwall sycamore is the most common non-woodland species in the landscape and many of our most important veteran trees, so rich in associated wildlife, are sycamores. Are hedges not allowed to grow to more than 2 metres in height?
