Can summer associates work on pro bono matters?
Absolutely. Pro bono is an integral part of Orrick’s culture and, as a result, pro bono is important to our summer program as well. In addition to assisting lawyers in the office on their pro bono cases and transactions, 2008 summer associates had the opportunity to participate in many different, often cutting-edge opportunities. Make sure to let us know of any special interests in pro bono, and we will try to find appropriate opportunities. Even if no attorney in our Sacramento office is working in your area of interest, attorneys in other offices may be, and cross-office pro bono collaboration is common at Orrick.
