Can students younger than 7 and older than 12 take the test?

A. Thirteen-year-olds can take the tests, because they are often in the same class as 12-year-old candidates. If candidates younger or older than this wish to enter for one of the YLE tests, please contact Cambridge ESOL YLE Admin at YLE.admin@cambridgeesol.org. The tests are designed to appeal to children in the 7-12 age group, and may not be suitable in content or appearance for candidates outside this age range. We encourage candidates over the age of 13 to consider taking KET.
