Can students use their Amazon Kindle or Sony Reader to access Flat World books?
Kindle, Sony Reader and Barnes & Noble nook users can currently read Flat World books on their devices by purchasing and loading the print‑it‑yourself chapters of our books (using the reader’s built-in PDF capabilities). Soon books will be availible for those who prefer an ePub format (for Sony Readers/nooks) or MOBI format (for Amazon’s Kindle).
Yes. Students can select an eBook format. This is a downloadable book file, in ePub format, meant specifically for e-Readers. They can choose this if they own an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phone, Sony Reader, B&N nook, Amazon Kindle, or similar smaller-screened device. When a student purchases an eBook from Flat World Knowledge, we’ll deposit both ePub and Mobi files into your account. Kindles require the mobi file. Nearly all other devices support ePub files.
