Can students purchase reusable water bottles on campus?
SI: Yes. The bookstore sells them and Sodexo sells them in the GQ. And if you have a reusable water bottle and you use it in the GQ you get the reduced drink price that’s offered: you can fill your bottle with anything and it’s only an 89 cent drink. GP: How can the resolution work to the students’ advantage and are there economic benefits or just environmental benefits? SI: Yes, there are economic benefits and that’s why I think it should be a pretty easy change for most of the student body to make. Fortunately dining services has been really supportive and on board with this change. Rather than just saying you’re losing that part of your swipe, they’re going to allow you an additional side option along with your meal. Essentially they’re letting you add more to the same meal that existed before and then your getting the water for free.
