Can students participate in the administration of medicines?
Student Nurses/Midwives may participate in the administration of medicines, including controlled drugs, in accordance with local policies under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse/midwife. Exceptions to this are: INTRAVENOUS MEDICATION MEDICINES ADMINISTERED VIA EPIDURAL CANNULA OR PUMP WHERE OTHER REGULATIONS APPLY FOR MIDWIFERY AND CHILD BRANCH STUDENTS.
