Can students on IEPs be placed on an Interdistrict Transfer Agreement?
Yes, provided all parties agree that this is the best method of providing educational services for the student. All legal requirements must be met regarding the student’s IEP and federal and state guidelines must be followed. Unlike the interdistrict transfer agreement for non-IEP students, both the Resident District (where the student’s parents/guardian reside) and Attending District need to ensure the required services are provided to the student. Contact Eric Richards in the Office of Student Learning and Partnership at ODE if you have questions regarding the the IEP requirements.
