Can students have their visits billed to their private insurance carrier?

No. The only insurance currently accepted at University Health Services is the EMU Student Insurance (please see the Frequently Asked Question on Student Insurance). However, UHS will be more than happy to provide any user with an itemized receipt that he/she may submit to any other insurance provider. All users will be expected to pay at the time of their visit. Exception: The UHS pharmacy and laboratory accept many major insurance policies for payment. Please call the pharmacy, 734.487.1125, to ask if your insurance will cover services in the UHS pharmacy.
