Can students bring in a snack?

Yes… I encourage you to send your child to school every day with some kind of healthy snack. Fruit, vegetables, pretzels, yogurt, granola bars, crackers, etc. will keep their energy up in a good way. Candy, cookies, snack cakes and other sugary treats are not recommended simply because the “sugar rush” from them usually results in “sugar crash.” We don’t need snoozers in class! Snacks like nacho chips (Doritos), cheese puffs, corn chips, BBQ chips, etc. are messy (all that orange “cheese” residue”) and create an unpleasant odor. **Please realize that I am NOT telling you what to feed your child, but merely suggesting ways to keep his/her energy at a constant level for EFFECTIVE LEARNING. I’d simply like to promote relatively healthy eating habits in Room 225.** Thanks for your understanding!!
