Can students appeal their High School WASL scores?

0

Yes. Scores may only be appealed on high school assessments that are required for graduation: WASL, DAW, WAAS-Portfolio or Collection of Evidence (one of the Certificate of Academic Achievement Options). To appeal a score, a student’s parent/guardian must first review their child’s test booklet(s), portfolio or collection. The score appeal process allows students and parents to challenge the technical aspects of a score. A score appeal results in a state review of particular scoring errors, such as errors on open-ended items, incorrect score calculations, mistakes affecting erasures and lightly marked bubbles on multiple choice items.
