Can Sto Guard be used to waterproof concrete and masonry surfaces?
Yes, to waterfproof concrete one coat of Sto Gold Coat is required. To waterproof normal weight CMU two coats of Sto Gold Coat are required. Lightweight CMU may require more coats. Surface preparation should include removal of all bond inhibiting materials such as form release agents, dirt, dust, efflorescence, laitance, mold and algae. Some leveling or filling of surfaces may be required depending on the condition of the surface. Minor cracks should be repaired with a layer of Sto Detail Mesh centered over the crack and embedded in Sto Gold Fill. Large cracks require special repair techniques. 3.
