Aviation security staff can work pending CTC clearance provided the following conditions are met: • For existing staff who have submitted a renewal application: • a properly completed SQ has been dispatched to TRANSEC and • there has been no significant change in the person’s personal circumstances in the three years since the previous clearance was issued. In this context, a significant change in personal circumstances includes: • a new partner declared on the security questionnaire (SQ boxes 8-14) • an unspent conviction for a CRC disqualifying offence (SQ boxes 33-34) (such a conviction may result in CTC clearance being denied) • an association with a group that advocates terrorism or the overthrow of democracy etc. declared on the security questionnaire (SQ box 35).
